FIG Newsletter – April 2022

Dear Colleague,

It is a strange feeling... normally at this time of year FIG delegates from around the world gather for the yearly FIG event. Old facebook updates pop up and remind of so many good, fun and special memories from previous FIG Congresses and Working Weeks. Well, this year we will all have to be patient for just a little more time, although the local organisers and FIG can hardly wait to meet and greet you again in person in Warsaw, Poland.
Secure your ticket now. You can still register with the discounted early bird rate, however please note that the deadline is 10 May 2022.
Check out also the pre-events. They can give you an even fuller conference experience.
In this newsletter we are also looking even further ahead and unveil a little of what to expect from the FIG Working Week 2023...
Our tour through FIG and the SDGs has now come to Commission 10 - Construction Economics and Management, and maybe you can attend the Aubrey Barker Fund competition. Read on...

FIG Congress 2022 - Join us in September

The local organisers from SGP - the Polish Association of Surveyors - together with FIG, are fully occupied with the preparations of this special event that has to be organised within a year. The Congress only takes place once every 4 years, and it marks the final year of the current leadership of FIG, the council and commissions and there will be elections for a new President and new Vice Presidents.

The Congress offers a large and exciting technical programme. Before the conference days there will be the possibility to attend a selection of pre-events.

We cannot wait to meet again in person.
Although we have learned that online meetings work well, the face-to-face presence brings an extra layer to a conference experience, such as:

  • - the precious non-distracted time
  • - the special FIG community feeling

... which you will bring home with you in your back-pack of special experiences and adventures mixed with new knowledge, ideas and food-for-thought from the technical programme.

Register now at the early bird fee

Plan your trip: The conference hotel is the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Conference Centre Warsaw - the same as the conference venue. A special accommodation room rate has been agreed with the hotel. Book before 1 July to get this special price. Read more and book your room here

Social and technical tours: Explore Warsaw and Poland, or maybe you are interested in a Polish Cuisine cooking class... Check the tours
